Meet Team Knox.
Co-Founders & Executive Board
President & Chief Executive Officer
Becky Martin
Becky is Knox’s mom and lived the brain cancer journey with him. As CEO, she engages community partners and renowned research institutions to fund and design life-saving treatments for those currently battling this devastating disease. She has over ten years of experience in nonprofit management and development and is a recent graduate of Emory University's Candler School of Theology, where she earned a Master's degree in Religion and Public Life: a degree that combines theological thought with nonprofit leadership and management. Throughout Knox’s journey of diagnosis, recurrence, craniotomies, radiation, chemotherapy, and a host of other setbacks, he never gave up. Never. Knox taught Becky the value of determination and grit. The day Knox passed, Becky made some promises to him. One was that she would spend the rest of her life funding innovative brain cancer research so someone else’s Knox could have a shot at a longer life. Becky is honored to partner with and serve alongside the KMF community of friends, donors, sponsors, and board members to do just that!
Chief Financial Officer
Joseph Stark
Joe is from Valdosta, Georgia. He attended UGA and graduated with a degree in Finance from the Terry College of Business. Joe currently lives in Washington D.C. where he works as a Consultant for Deloitte Consulting LLP. Outside of work, Joe enjoys traveling, playing basketball, and attending sporting and music events. Joe met Knox during their first year at UGA, and they quickly became friends while pledging into the same fraternity and living in the same dorm. Knox and Joe shared many memories, but Joe cherishes the times spent talking over a cold Guinness the most. To know Knox was to know laughter, loyalty, and a great time. Joe's goal is to keep Knox's light shining by growing KMF.
Chief Operating Officer
Madison Letts
Madison was born and raised in Charlotte, NC, and graduated from the Lamar Dodd School of Art at UGA. She now resides in New York City, where she writes and works as KMF's COO. Madison brings her expertise in branding, strategy, and operations to help KMF manage day-to-day operations, marketing, and event planning. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and walking around the city. Madison's debut memoir—a story about her experience as Knox's partner—was published in April of 2023. The book is now available for purchase anywhere books are sold. While Knox and Madison were together, he told her he wanted to help other people through their cancer journey once his own finally came to an end. Though Knox is no longer here with us, Madison believes his legacy lives on through the foundation and the work that she and fellow KMF board members do in his honor each day.
Historian
Riley Martin
Riley is Knox's brother. He was born and raised in Gainesville, Georgia and he's currently pursuing a graduate degree in Landscape Architecture at UGA. Riley is passionate about GBM treatment and patient care upon diagnosis. He has witnessed firsthand how new breakthroughs in treatment are crucial throughout the patient's cancer battle, so he's excited that KMF is focusing on underfunded GBM research. Riley believes that Knox’s charisma lives on through every KMF board member. He believes this foundation is an excellent example of how, with persistence and determination, anything is possible.
Chair of the Board
Patrick Baughman
Patrick was born and raised in Atlanta where he now works as a Commercial Real Estate broker at JLL after graduating from UGA. Outside of the office and foundation, Patrick loves golfing, snowboarding, going to concerts, and spending time with his friends and his yellow lab. Patrick has enough “favorite” memories of Knox to fill an entire book (some appropriate for public consumption, others better left for his memory!) In general, Knox was the most thoughtful, positive, funny, and loving person that he knew. Knox had a soft heart that always left people feeling warm and welcome. Aside from his impeccable character, Knox loved all things fun in life: music festivals, traveling, great style, sports, etc. Patrick is thankful for the time with Knox that God blessed him with. Knox taught him how to be a better friend, have a more positive outlook on life, and live his life to the fullest.
Vice-Chair of the Board
Wade Cox
Wade is a UGA graduate. He now works for Sands Investment Group in Atlanta as an Investment Sales Advisor. Wade grew up with Knox from 7th grade onward and their friendship formed a strong bond through the years. They were freshman-year roommates in college and pledge brothers in the same fraternity. They didn't live more than 15 feet away from each other during their college years until Knox’s diagnosis and treatment in the fall of 2017. Knox was a true brother to Wade. He taught Wade to have an appreciation for the little things and embrace life to the fullest well before and well after his diagnosis. Wade is determined to help this foundation fight for Knox’s legacy and the legacies of other patients like him, just as he knows Knox would have done!
